Day of Archaeology

Yesterday was the "Day of Archaeology" - a web project set up to show people what archaeologists around the world do on a daily basis (clue: it's not just about digging!)
As this year it coincided with Heritage Action's 10th birthday, I submitted a short piece for the DoA website, which was accepted and published. It can be seen in all its glory here: http://www.dayofarchaeology.com/a-day-o ... on-a-time/
Whilst there, don't miss the chance to read some of the excellent stories, showing the breadth of experiences - from graduates on a rescue dig, to archivists, to setting up a pop-up museum (Hayling Island this weekend), to digital archaeology. There's even a reasoned post on there pleading for more interaction between metal detectorists and archaeologists!

I'll always regret not making that 1st get together. Been to nearly every one since though! Always a pleasure to see everyone.
