CBA Wessex Open Meeting and Conference. November 3rd , Southampton, UK.

The Autumn Open Meeting of CBA Wessex will be held in the new Ordnance Survey Building, Adanac Drive, Southampton, SO16 0AS on Saturday 3rd
November 2012

In a time of financial uncertainly and the call for greater and wider public involvement in archaeological projects, this is a very challenging period
for all those involved, at whatever level. The CBA's slogan "Archaeology for All" provides the topic for this year's conference, and we shall look at a
range of exciting local and national community projects.

See http://www.cba-wessex.org.uk/cba-wessex ... -2012.html for details

Speakers include:
Mike Heyworth, Director of CBA, on the issues facing the national body and
its vision of the way forward.
Julian Richards, on the "What's Under your School" project which he and
Clare Ryley are running for CBA Wessex. Julian will also be making a YAC
presentation involving members of a local YAC branch.
Lilian Ladle : The Bestwell project and public engagement.
Stephen Fisher on a Maritime topic
Richard Osgood (Archaeological Adviser - Defence Estates), on Project
Nightingale.

I'd love to go, but logistically it might be a bit difficult for me.

Ooh, I'd love to go to this! As would The Wife. But at £35 a pop, I can't see it happening, sadly... It's right on my bloody doorstep as well! Couldn't be much closer, in fact! Dammit... Hmm...
